Kathy Conrad is responsible for Jefferson’s corporate consulting business, including federal marketing, lobbying and due diligence, and leads the Federal Marketing/Business Development practice. A seasoned expert on all aspects of federal marketing, business development and acquisition, Ms. Conrad advises and assists clients on capture strategy, positioning, teaming, corporate marketing, and market entry. She helps clients prepare winning proposals, and is a skilled facilitator and strategist expert at defining corporate messaging and competitive differentiators. With over twenty-five years of experience, Ms. Conrad has in-depth knowledge and understanding of federal information technology and acquisition policies and practices, and extensive relationships with key decision makers across the government. She is well known for her ability to link client capabilities with federal agency policy goals and needs.
Prior to joining Jefferson Consulting Group in 1994, Ms. Conrad was the Director of Strategic Accounts for Praxis, Inc. She developed and implemented strategies to market complex software, training and assistive technology solutions to the government. Previously, Ms. Conrad served as Policy Analyst for the National Science Foundation (NSF). She wrote speeches and provided policy advice for the NSF Director and Deputy Director on technology, education, engineering and manufacturing issues, and analyzed Federal and state science and technology programs. She was awarded the Foundation’s Special Achievement Award in 1987. She also served as Deputy Director of Government Affairs for the National Society of Professional Engineers, and began her career as Legislative Assistant for the New England Congressional Institute.
Ms. Conrad is the 2009-2010 Industry Chair, Industry Advisory Council (IAC) Executive Leadership Conference (ELC), and was previously Industry Vice Chair. She also served as Chair of the ACT/IAC Acquisition Special Interest Group Task Force on Government Ethics. Ms. Conrad is an active participant in the TechAmerica Federal and Procurement Policy Committees, and is Vice Chair for the TechAmerica IT Dashboard Task Group. She also serves on the Board of Trustees of the Scholarship Fund of Alexandria.
Ms. Conrad received a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology/Psychology from Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT.
